The property has fantastic views of Zakynthos. Our balcony was exceptionally large. The infinity pool was lovely. Breakfast was great.

There was a problem with wasps around the pool. The AC in our room was very unreliable although eventually it was rectified. We also had to chase for the bins in the room to be emptied and the room to be cleaned. Also, although the food is good, it is very limited.

The workers and owner were wonderful, bed so comfortable, view amazing, breaky delicious.

I didn’t like having to pay for water

The property is beautifully designed, and the setting is lovely. The pool area is well maintained, and the rooms have great potential. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we raised questions or made requests. For example, he kindly offered us omelets free of charge after we mentioned the breakfast options were quite limited and we weren’t expected, as well as replacement towels free of charge. The overall atmosphere has the bones of something special, and with a bit more attention, it could be a fantastic place. He also allowed for late check-out.

Unfortunately, we left feeling quite disappointed. We often stay in small boutique-style accommodations like this, and usually love them, but this one fell short of what was advertised — especially considering the very high score on Booking and the label of a “luxury experience.” One of the main issues was around the towels. We ended up having a frustrating exchange with the owner when we asked for fresh ones. I tried to explain that it felt wrong to have to bargain for something so basic, especially in a place positioned as luxury. His response was that this wasn’t a five-star hotel and that “not even in five-star hotels” would you get fresh towels without an extra charge. That’s simply not true. I’ve stayed in many similar properties across Italy and Portugal — not even five-star hotels, just well-run boutique stays — and they’ve always been happy to provide what guests need without making it feel like an inconvenience or an upsell (for future reference: Monte do Cardal and Teima Alentejo SW, in Portugal, Theros All Suites, in Greece, BB Hotels, in Spain and French - different price points, different countries and different quality, and not all of them hotels, but this has never been an issue). Yes, he said extra towels could be provided free of charge, even though they usually had an extra cost, but luxury isn’t about charging more for basics. It’s about making guests feel comfortable and cared for. Also, this is so basic that it has never been an issue in 2- and 3-star hotels where I have stayed. One of the issues was the breakfast. It was very limited, and we were surprised that basic options like omelets weren’t included by default. After we mentioned it, the host kindly offered them free of charge, which we appreciated. However, having to ask in the first place felt awkward and didn’t align with the idea of a high-end experience. There were other signs of poor upkeep.

Our stay here was just incredible. Kefalonian Escape Suites were even better than we imagined. Spectacular views of the Ionian, with Zakynthos just across. The room was large, super clean and the pool was refreshing especially after a day of sightseeing. Dimitra’s service was exceptional and attentive, not to mention the delicious meals and yummy cocktails served by the pool. We also got to meet the owner Kostas who was always available with island recommendations and sound advice !!! You will def need a car…. The island is big and if you want to do any sightseeing, it’s the best way to get around. Highly recommend staying here and look forward to going back.

The view

The shower was not good. Water everywhere. You couldn’t use the hand held unless you kept it below your waist because of water spray.

The location is truly amazing, with beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets. The design of the hotel is very stylish and minimalistic, which we really appreciated. Breakfast is included, and the concept is thoughtfully developed to reduce waste. There is the option to order food on-site, which adds convenience if you prefer not to leave the property.

Overall, we found the price–quality ratio a bit disappointing. While breakfast was smartly portioned, the selection and quantity felt too limited (e.g., only two slices of bread per person, small amounts of cold cuts). The rooms are on the smaller side, with very limited storage (just one drawer and one hanger). The bathroom design is not very practical: the shower is directly behind the bed with only a half-height wall, which makes it easy for water to spread into the sleeping area. Privacy is an issue, as the rooms are on eye level with the pool, giving a direct view inside. The only way to block this is with blackout curtains, which makes the room dark. Some mirrored glass or semi-transparent curtains could greatly improve this.
