Altrude By The Sea

Location is excellent. They were understaffed. People were not available at the reception counter at night. Not many options for breakfast, especially for vegetarians.

The location is perfect. Down our favourite beach road and so close to the beach. Perfect!

Wonderful staff, AMAZING restaurant at great prices considering the quality. The maintenance boy was fantastic and always on hand when we required assistance and so respectful and polite. Breakfast okay, staff at breakfast efficient and friendly. Evening dinner the best meals we had and the staff were great! Rooftop pool is a nice quiet get away if you needed it. Entertainment at hotel was a huge positive and I wish we'd stayed there in the evenings more often as away from the hotel, it seemed to be the same songs everywhere to cater for the same sorts of crowd. Location of hotel is fantastic as only 2 minutes walk to the beach. Owners came to the hotel in the evening and made time to speak with each guest which was a nice touch.

Cockroach in room (quickly removed by hotel staff), rats by the side of hotel (not IN the hotel but a little off-putting) as you walk up to the apartments. Smell of sewage by the side of hotel and in the bathroom in room. On entry, the room was very dusty on surfaces and my socks were filthy after walking around for just a couple of minutes. Unsure if the room had been out of use for some time, but we expected better. Cleaning seemed to improve as the holiday went on, but in my opinion the room cleaning standards need to be higher. The worst thing was each night being bitten to shreds by either mosquito or bed bugs which subsequently got quite badly infected and required professional treatment and will leave scarring. With the pattern of bites on me , the Dr advised bed bugs. Hotel staff did what they could when I thought it was mosquito bites and provided plug for room.

A great location less than 5 minutes from the sea. Breakfast was tasty and sufficient in both quantity and quality. Room was adequate and the staff were amazing. Would gladly stay there again.

Difficulty with many stairs with the stroller. Neighbourhood is quite dirty, but that is true of all of India.
