Hotel Chalet

The owner was very nice and engaging, and there's a very cute, sweet dog that stays in a box right in front of the hotel. The location was nice, close to the market and sites but a bit outside the action. It's a cute, small town, so it's easy to get around. The room is basic and has everything you need. It was a bit cold, but there were lots of blankets. The shower also had hot water and worked well. The Internet was fine, but not great, so I used my phone data instead some of the time.

The location was good. The proprietor was extremely helpful and accommodating. The beds were comfortable.

The room was very small, dated and not well-appointed. Bare bulbs for lighting. We had just backpacks but there would be no room for luggage. This is more like a hostel and not what I expect for a “3 star hotel” on Booking.com

The hostel looks little old and tired, I don't need luxury hotel but for this price I expected more. We was little lost when we looked for it, because on the Booking is little differente adress

The location was great, the room was okay Compared to the Price. But the manager was the best part!

Good central location in a safe and quiet street. Very helpful host. Basic but homely, comfortable room. Bed was fine. Good shower.

Seemed expensive to us by Guatemalan standards. We had stayed in places on Lake Atitlan which were just as good or better that were half the price. Maybe that’s to do with availability in Chichi?

The owner and staff treated us very kindly and helped to arrange transportation to the airport. We felt safe at the hotel and in the neighborhood. Breakfast was adequate.

The address was wrong, so it was hard to find. Luckily we arrived during daylight hours. The room was very small and the bedding was dirty. Neither the bathroom nor the room were cleaned during our stay. The owner initially said no breakfast would be provided and argued a bit until we showed him our receipt which indicated breakfast was included. There was no decaf nor hot water, There was construction on the roof next door (immediately adjacent to and at the same level as our room) and they were pouring concrete until midnight one night. We notified the owner we would be leaving a day early and he charged us half the cost of the room for the night we didn't stay. There was no lock box for our passports and valuables. The city is known for pickpockets so we had to leave our valuables in the locked bedroom; which was a bit nerve-wracking. But, as we grew to trust the owner, it was less of an issue. In truth, I am a bit miffed at Booking.com, which indicated that Hotel Chalet was one of only two hotels in town and that it had a rating of 8, very good. In fact there are many other options in town. I would have rated Hotel Chalet much lower; maybe a 6, It would be great to have other options because Hotel Chalet is not up to the standards I've come to expect with Booking.

Very friendly, helpful and kind owner. Clean room and comfortable bed. Free coffee. Great location.
