We could not stay at this property. My cousin and I booked 2 x single rooms for one night with a no cancellation policy. My fault I did not ask if the rooms were upstairs. When we arrived I spoke with the barman regarding the rooms and he advised they were up a large flight of stairs. When I looked at the stairs there were a lot of stairs and they were extremely steep. I explained my cousin had mobility issues and wouldn’t be able to get up the stairs let alone myself and I was able bodied! I asked if there was a lift. There wasn’t. The barman was most helpful and understood my distress at being unable to stay. He phoned the manager and the manager said there would be no problem with a refund and to request via booking.com I did the request and have had no response. I telephoned the hotel a couple of days later and spoke with the barman again. He provided me with the direct email address for the manager. I emailed and explained again what had happened and respectfully requested a refund due to mobility issues. I’ve had no response. So very disappointed after barman kindly rang through and had the discussion with the manager. Next time I’ll be more mindful of my requests and where we stay.

Smokers area which had to be walked through from parking the car. Also this area was not particularly clean.
AUWe unexpectedly arrived late at 10pm. When we rang they were very accommodating in leaving a key for us. It was for an overnight stay. Beds were very comfortable. I have back problems and beds were new, medium to firm. Bathroom was shared, being an old building, it took a while for the hot water to run through pipes and was able to enjoy a lovely hot shower. Cutlery, tea and coffee facilities in room. A step back in time as you walk the hotel corridors, amber glazed doors, high ceilings. Room heated up very quickly, solid walls in not hearing other people present.
