The staff were available until late to check us in.

The stay doesn't accept cards but this wasn't mentioned before. They eventually offered the option for a bank transfer which can sometimes take time (they ask you to wait until the payment is received, even if confirmation of payment initiation is showed). The room could have been better. There were insects in the room and more entering from the main door. There was a crack on the balcony window as well. The staff suddenly knocked on our door in the morning before check out time when we were sleeping (as we had arrived late). This was quite uncomfortable. The shower room could have been cleaner.

Staff was kind

Bathroom moldy, dirty, rooms have no soundproofing so it was very noisy, party in the neighborhood very loud, you can hear people in other rooms, laundry was not smelling good and we got it back still moist in a plastic bag, view was not nice at all, AC noisy and can’t change settings, only cash payment, staff kept knocking on our doors when we were resting or in the bathroom. Too expensive, no deluxe rooms at all. Very far walking from center, steep roads.

Ella has a noisy bustling centre. Thankfully we chose 49 Ella which is a couple of kms away. Close enough to walk but far enough away to be quiet. 49 Ella is in a lovely location. Super friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with the best Sri Lankan omelette!

Really modern room with excellent Aircon, really comfy beds and great ensuite bathroom. The hosts really went out of their way to help and direct us, calling taxis and giving directions.

10 minutes by tuktuk from the town centre, however this wasn’t the end of the world as a tuktuk was 400LKR

We arrived before the check in time and we were allowed into the room early. The staff were great and hospitable, ensuring a comfortable stay. The room was very clean and every meal was delicious. We also attended a cooking class and learned how to prepare Sri Lankan cuisine. It was a very good stay.

The bed was a little hard
