The location was excellent, beautiful sunset views and right below the Orthodox Metropoltan Church making it very easy to enjoy Fira. There are a lot of steps to the hotel, so guests should be aware of that, but if you want to be on the Caldera to enjoy the views, then you have to expect steps! The staff were very friendly and helpful and had breakfast ready and waitng each morning. Breakfast was simple, but there was quite a bit - bread and pastries, greek salad, yoghurt and fruit plus cooked egg options as well, and coffee/tea.

I hadn't known that my room was accessed by a steep flight of wooden steps, inside the dining/bar area. It felt a bit like I was staying in someones attic, and the noise from downstairs was quite loud. The bathroom didn't have any screen or shower curtain so the floor was extremely wet and dangerously slippery. Just something to be aware of if you're older or have problems with stairs or slippery surfaces. I would have liked to have had a cocktail out on the terrace, but unfortunately there was no bartender, even tho there is a bar. This might be different during high season. It would be good to have the option of drinks and snacks on the terrace, just some simple options like dips and pita, and some salads would be a great option to have, and would have kept me onsite, instead of having to go elsewhere to find it.
