the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The food was of a high standard and very enjoyable. Additionally, the hotel itself is lovely, with beautiful surroundings and stunning views that added greatly to the overall experience.

Upon arrival, I was informed that the room I had originally booked was unavailable. I inquired about an alternative, but was told that particular room type was fully booked. I was subsequently offered a different room which included a bath; however, it was noticeably smaller than expected. During the night, I was disturbed at approximately 2:00 AM by an individual outside my room who appeared to be unwell and was attempting, for about 20 minutes, to access his own room with considerable difficulty. I had to call reception for assistance. To their credit, the situation was handled promptly. Unfortunately, for the remainder of the night, there was a persistent and unpleasant smell of vomit in the hallway. I intended to raise these concerns at check-out, but reception was closed and a sign indicated that no staff were available at that time.

Everything was fantastic very clean staff ( Michelle ) was fantastic couldn’t do enough for all visitors she’s an absolute star. Breakfast was tops too you got plenty from toast cereal juice cooked breakfast tea and coffee Evening meal was absolutely brilliant too with a good choice Bar staff ( sorry can’t remember his name ) was brilliant too 😜 Parking was easy plenty of room Every single person staff/customers so so friendly and welcoming I would give this 100% rating 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The only issue I had was the stairs but I knew about them before I booked. I would of been ok if I didn’t become unwell and have a severe breakdown with my osteoarthritis

Beautiful old building, huge room with views over the harbour and loch. Friendly staff, great food.

The welcome information refers to the procedure in event of fire, says follow the instructions on the back of the door and in the welcome pack. Couldn't find either set of instructions. But no fires so all good!

"Good, updated, large rooms with fine breakfast, limited parking."

8.0

The breakfast was made to order, including full breakfast. The second morning, the restaurant was short-staffed so it took a while to get tables cleaned. However, the food was very good with orange juice, milk, bread/toast, jams & butter and cereal available. The rooms were huge and updated. Beds very comfortable.

Interior of hotel was a bit worn but the rooms were very nice. Nothing fancy about the breakfast room but what mattered more was the high quality of food and service (despite lack of personnel on our second day). Also, front desk staff was almost invisible, but no problem. Appeared to have limited parking... we got the last spot out front and did not see any more.

"Beautiful, clean hotel with wonderful staff"

10.0

I loved this hotel. I used it back in April, so booked it again because of the room, cleanliness, service etc. The hotel is a beautiful old building, and it has been very sympathetically updated, not too 21st century! It is situated directly across from the Western Ferries port. The rooms are clean and well looked after. I had requested the same one as in my previous visit, which I was happily granted and my friends were in various other configured rooms. The views of the sea were beautiful. Everyone was very impressed with the overall hotel, cleanliness, service, staff, views etc. The cooked breakfast was beautiful, but we only managed dien for it the first day as we were there for Doon The Watter Revival and were shattered come day 2. I am allergic to cows milk, so I asked if they had any oatmilk. Unfortunately, they didn't, but Richard, the manager, said if I'd mentioned that on booking, they would have got some in for sure. I had taken some with me and just went to the room to get it. I can't hold that against them because they did everything they could to please. They were even happy to keep the bar open and keep serving us on the last night when we came back. My companions have said they will be using this hotel time and time again when in Dunoon, as will I.

I had no issues, but if I had to make a suggestion, it would be to have breakfast on for another hour. We're on a break, so with having very late nights, we would've loved to have had breakfast, but couldn't get up so early. 🤣
