Seagrape Plantation Resort & Dive Center

I was a solo traveler and my primary objective coming to Roatan was to complete my Open Water Diver Certification, then do some snorkeling and touring of the island. I did not come for a resort-centered "all-inclusive" experience. In that respect, Seagrape worked very well for me. It was clean, with friendly, attentive staff and economical. I stayed in a double room (this was the cheapest option, not sure if pure 'singles' are available) in the hotel section, as distinct from the bungalows. The hotel room was clean and sparely furnished. Balconies are only part of the bungalows, but there was a large central "porch" of the hotel with hammocks and common seating area overlooking the big banyan trees in the garden, which was nice. Air conditioning was adequate. The pool area was a raised deck overlooking the sea, very nicely done. West End is a funky, laid back town with many dive shops, bars and restaurants, but Seagrape is at the northern "quiet" end, so no noise issues. The town beaches, all shops, restaurants, etc. are a 10-15 minute walk away, and it's all very safe. The restaurant serves breakfast (a standard one which changes daily is included in the room price, a la carte extra) and a la carte lunch (closes at 2pm). The 3 star designation is appropriate. If you want luxury, frills and to be in the center of the action, this is probably not for you. Pool lounge seats were old and worn and not that numerous but I generally had no problem getting one when I was there. There is no beach but there is a small pier with steps to go down and snorkel in the ocean through the gardens. Like most hotels on the island, you must NOT flush toilet paper in the toilet, there is a bag-lined refuse can next to the toilet to collect it, and this was collected daily by the housekeeping staff. Again, this is common to almost all hotels on the island with some very "upscale" exceptions. Hot water was available but pressure was low.

Quiet and felt remote, although a 5-minute walk got us to the busier areas. Gorgeous green, lush surroundings that are well-tended-to yet maintain that wild nature feeling. Beautiful ocean view from the pool deck area. Everything clean and well maintained

A little bit older, not quite so modern - but very charming and all needs were adequately met.

Free breakfast was great. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Room was comfortable and very clean.

overall a nice if nondescript place to stay. Close to West End, nice pool, comfy bed. To be honest, I don't really remember much about it.

The wifi was absolutely terrible! It was hard to get work done from my room. Also would have been nice if they'd included a coffee maker in the room.

Great location, with easy access into West End. Nice and helpful staff. Clean and to standard.

The breakfast was mediocre. And the access to the water is not via a beach, so we just headed out to Half Moon Bay instead.

NIce location, in that it was close to the lively West End but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful at night.

Nice, clean and quiet. Decent breakfast every morning. Proximity to the dive center made this a great option. The desk staff was excellent and accomodating.

Water pressure and time to have hot water reach the tap. Otherwise we really had no complaints about anything.

it’s quite a lot of place with lots of vegetation, wild rabbit very close to Diving centers quite a good equipment. Great staff. best quality for money
