Seagrape Plantation Resort & Dive Center

Location, staff, the pool, the food. Mostly everything!

Another guest was able to use her key to get into my room, confusing it for her own. A little noisy at times from surrounding rooms but nothing too extreme.

Breakfast was fine, nice to have ready, and the service was good. I don't think I would have paid for it on its own but we enjoyed it, and the process was very easy. The location was fine, a little far out if you have young kids (they got tired walking to town) but super close if you are adults or older children. Everything else was fine. We came from Utila, and therefore everything was super expensive and touristy but in relation to other Roatan hotels it was a pretty good deal. I'd recommend staying there to anyone going to West end, I just may not recommend West end in itself.

Probably nothing; it's hard to evaluate against other options in Roatan since we only stayed there.

As a travel agent I go to a lot of locations to assess the properties to suggest to my clients. The Seagrape is definitely on my list of recommendations in Roatan! The room was extremely clean and comfortable! We were literally within walking distance of all the clubs and restaurants. The beach and grocery store was right there too. The area is safe to walk in at night. The Lands End restaurant is right there if you want dinner and the chicken wings were so good as well as the drinks. There’s a fridge in the room.

The outlets were directly behind the bed and there’s no microwave.

The breakfast was served hot and fresh everyday. Different breakfast everyday with fruit. Selection of teas and juice. Coffee. The tiles through out the halls , room, and veranda were sparkling clean.

Unfortunately our room did not have a microwave to heat food up.

The Seagrape is a family-owned/run by some great people- specifically, Mariela and her daughter (Tirza ?) are rock stars! Both were extremely kind and helpful from check in to check out on issues ranging from local sights to restaurant accommodations, etc. One incident in particular involved the hot water in our shower- it was scalding and relatively impossible to set at a safe temperature. Mariela's daughter reacted immediately in getting it resolved.....first with having maintenance attempt to repair it, then ultimately moving us to another room. Also, the housekeeping and landscaping members of the hotel staff did an exceptional job, too.......something you sadly don't find often, even in hotels in the states.

Now, the negative. To begin with, the mattresses are old, thin, and very uncomfortable .....and are in dire need of being replaced. Next, the breakfast- it was bland, redundant, and often not even warm......let alone, hot. Another flaw was the lack of any available means in our room to hang up our dive gear. As a dive resort, the Seagrape shouldn't have overlooked this critical issue. There was plenty of space in our room from which hooks or a drying rack could have been installed..... and leaving our gear to dry at the dive shop often wasn't a viable option. But, as a diver, the most disappointing aspect of our vacation by far was the diving itself. Specifically, the divemasters, whose dive shop is tied in with Seagrape, are relatively apathetic and checking the block. The boat rides from the Seagrape to multiple dive sites were normally only around 5-10 minute rides from the dock to areas that were alarmingly sparse in sea life. I fully realize this is no fault of the Seagrape OR the divemasters, but here's the glitch: they were on a "schedule"......which meant literally all our dives were short-reined by them; often when I or my girlfriend had as much as 1500 psi (essentially, half a tank of air) remaining. And their "schedule" consisted simply of returning straight back to the dive shop/hotel, sitting on their #sses, and jamming their collective noses into their cell phones. By cutting everyone's dives short due to this rigid "schedule", it further reduced the opportunity for us and other divers to see or film any potential ocean life that we may have missed out on.

The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Staff was wonderful. Great diving experience. Bungalows perfect

Spotty wifi.

The breakfast was as I expoected it also my daugther is extremally pick when is time to eat the lady on the kitchen as her what was her preference and she made it for her that was very sweet for her part definally touch my heart and daugther was happy at the end thanks so much for that.

The Only thing was the Wifi was able to connect on the public areas no on the room the rest no complaint at all
