Seclude Shimla, Taraview

Seclude Shimla offers the ultimate colonial experience. The property is a thoroughly renovated wooden structure with tasteful furnature, which all feels very historical. On top, we were pampered with great Indian food and service. We especially appreciate that Seclude Shimla offered lodgings for our taxi driver.

The hot water boiler is a bit small, which encourages short showers. Seclude Shimla is relatively not cheap and demands prepayment without the option to cancel.

Seclude Shimla was an absolute delight! Our stay was exceptionally warm and comfortable. The food was to die for. Anit and Nadeem took excellent care of us. So much so that we extended our stay by another 3 days. The property is 170 years old and nestled in a location that completely shields you from the bustle of traffic and tourists while still being an easy 15-20 minute drive from the main town.

My stay at this place was a next-level experience, everything there was just great. The food, The room, the facilities, everything was good.

The Cost of living was a little bit high.

Staff were great.

Expensive for my liking.. and the pics of the property shown is not exactly how the property is. For me its a normal property with decent facilities.. not worth 4k per day range

We very unhappy with what we found at ,Seclude Shimla, Taraview’. It was absolutely not what we could have had expected according to the informations given on Booking.com, which promised a 4 + star standard. There were dirty carpets and rugs, a musty smell, humidity in the old construction, no shower curtain, no hair dryer, no fridge, no room service, little toilet paper, at once running out, etc.). When we entered the sight, we couldn’t see anybody. Only after shouting, these friendly guys hanging around, came up to us. We were the only guests. Meals had to be ordered by internet. The whole atmosphere was rather strange, not at all cosy. Nobody seemed to be responsible; we even got any answer to our mail. Knowing India very well, half of the price would have beeen fair for both sides. We prefered to skip the last night and left after two instead of three booked days.

What a great find Seclude Shimla was for me - it suited me very well. Good location with beautiful outlook over a well tended garden. Shimla is a crowded nightmare with a great deal of traffic - Seclude was convenient to all that I wanted to see and far enough away that i was not aware of traffic or excess noise - the off street parking was a great bonus. Nadeem was always available and manages a team of warm welcoming staff - would definitely return
