Hotel Ionio

The only good thing about this place is location, location, location, location. It is located at the port of Kotakolo, Pyrgos, Ilias, Greece. The main road.

It is an old, old, old hotel from the 1960s that I have grave doubts if it has ever been RENOVATED or UPGRADED since. It needs an upgrading period. It is NOT 🚫🚫🚫 worth 40 euro per night. I had to negotiate with the owner to get it down for an additional three days for 65 euros to get my money's worth. The bathroom lights don't work. Old bathroom. Shower 🚿🚿🚿 is an old curtain. Friends of the owner were playing card ♦️♠️ games and smoking 🚬🚬🚬 inside??? It stunk in the lobby as a result. But again, it was a tradeoff with the location. The parking 🅿️🅿️🅿️ in the back of hotel 🏨🏨🏨 seems that the mountain 🏔️🏔️🏔️ in the back will fall or spill on the hotel 🛏️🛏️🛏️. It needs a concrete barrier 🚧🚧🚧 in the back. If it rains you have mud in the parking lot. PLEASE UPDATE this property to make it worth 30/40 euro max. Now it's worth 20 euro per night. Because of the age of property, I brought my sleeping bag to sleep. Worried about bed bugs that I did not 🚫🚫🚫 see. But taking precautions.

Shower didn’t work well. Wi-Fi was hit and miss.

Excellent location short walk to town with local bars and restaurants. Parking behind hotel. Owners very friendly.

Hotel is very dated and tired.

A hotel from 70's with all the equipments, nothing changed. Small bathroom, sticky shower curtain. and so on. Didn't like it :(
