Gorgeous property and location is lovely. Thoughtfully designed. Filled with lovely spaces and quiet. The library is so beautiful and filled with amazing books to inspire. The food is amazing and the staff is very sweet and accomodating all needs.

Die Chambal Safari Lodge war für uns ein magischer Ort. Ein Naturparadies und sicheres Refugium für viele Tier- und Vogelarten. Auf dem weitläufigen Gelände konnten wir bei Spaziergängen mit dem sehr talentierten und symphatischen Naturalisten Bacchu verschiedene Eulenarten, sonstige seltene Vögel, Flughunde und sogar Zibetkatzen (bei der Nachtwanderung) sehen. Die Bungalows sind schön rustikal im Stil alter Zeiten eingerichtet. Vor dem Schlafen gehen wird sogar eine Wärmflasche in die Betten gelegt. Die Atmosphäre des Mittagessens mit Tischen verteilt im großen Garten hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Ein weiteres Highlight sind die fantastischen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, die man in dieser vom Massentourismus verschonten Region hat. Den Nachmittag/Abend als einziges Boot auf dem Chambal River bei goldenem Licht und mit Sichtung von Gharialen, Krokodilen, vielen Vögeln und einem Flussdelfin zu verbringen wird uns immer in Erinnerung bleiben. Dazu besichtigten wir ein eindrucksvolles Heritage Dorf und schön am Yamuna River gelegene Tempel. Auch dies ohne andere Touristen zu sehen. Außerdem war die Saruskranich-Safari mit Bacchu in Feuchtgebiete in der Region ein tolles Erlebnis. Einfach nur WOW und zu empfehlen.

Mela Kothi is a wonderful lodge and feels like a small island of tranquility. The property is beautiful and teeming with vegetation and wildlife. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. I also did the river boat safari which I highly recommend - saw a river dolphin, Gharials, crocodiles, turtles and many species of birds and the naturist guide was very knowledgeable.

The food was delicious and the staff warm, welcoming, and informed about the local wildlife and culture. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

We wish wifi were available in the rooms.

It was lovely to arrive in such a beautiful garden with flowers, peacocks and other wildlife. Staff was very friendly and the lodge was big and nicely decorated. Food during breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent: a daily changing buffet of both traditional and innovatove dishes, made of super fresh ingredients from local farms. Excursions by local guides and boat 'safari' with a naturalist were very well done. Good ethical and community-based accommodation: they employ local people, empowering women and creating a caste-free safe space.

Airco did not work, but they tried to fix this immediately and when this didn't work, they immediately provided another room. Airco is fairly essential, as it helps against mosquitoes.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and flexible. While great for birders and wildlife lovers it is also interesting for those without.much knowledge of nature. We loved the river safari- with an excellent guide- and visit to Bateshwar temples. The heritage Village was a bit disappointing; visits to the nearby lively little town would be an option. The food was lovely!

WiFi is non-exist ant in the rooms and dodgy where it is supposed to be working.
