Ella HIDE VIEW

For the price that we pay (particularly in Ella which seems a bit higher than the rest of the country) I think it’s worth it. The views from the reception/restart area are amazing. The staff helped us in getting a tuktuk to Ella Rock (reasonable price for Ella as Ella seems to be slightly expensive than the rest of Sri Lanka) and also a free tuck tuck from the hotel to the main road to get our bags to our taxi the day that we checked out. The welcome drink and the breakfast was really nice, and the staff was very friendly. They also have laundry service for reasonable charge that we use and we were really glad about. Finally our room was especially decorated for our honeymoon which was a really nice touch.

Our room was directly under the restaurant and the view on the left it’s partially blocked because of a construction that was taking place next to the hotel. Not much though and there were no noise while we were there. The view is still amazing but if you can, ask for the upper rooms where you will get a full view. And a side note (not the hotel fault though) we left some of our dirty clothes outside (in the balcony) one night so it can me clean the next day.. well it seems it attracted some squirrels that stoled a couple of socks 😂) so keep your clothes in the room 😂

A Total Disaster Safety Hazards & Zero Service I strongly advise anyone considering Hide View Ella to look elsewhere. Our experience was a complete disaster from start to finish, and the lack of professionalism from the management is unacceptable. We were very clear with the hotel that we would be arriving late, specifically around 11:30 PM. Despite acknowledging this, the hotel went completely silent. We tried calling and messaging multiple times starting around 7:00 PM, but no one answered. When we finally arrived at 11:30 PM, the reception was empty and our calls continued to go unanswered. The location is incredibly difficult to find because there is no proper road. To make matters worse, it was raining when we arrived. The only way to access the property is via a series of small, steep steps that lead deep down. We were traveling with older people, and these steps are a massive safety risk. They are narrow, steep, and extremely slippery in the rain. One slip could lead to a serious injury. Because there was no staff present, we were forced to carry all our heavy luggage down these dangerous steps ourselves in the dark and rain. DO NOT GO A hotel that ignores its guests, provides no staff for a confirmed late check-in, and has such dangerous physical access is not a legitimate place of business. It was an exhausting, stressful, and unsafe experience. We do not recommend this place at all, especially for seniors or those with heavy bags. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere that values guest safety and basic communication.

We loveddd our stay at Ella Hide View! We watched the sunrise from the balcony and it was the most magical experience ever! The staff are so kind and helpful, they made our experience unforgettable.

They didn’t include a safe in the room however this is just a minor detail :)

Super cute rooms with stunning view and the staff were so kind and friendly. We loved our stay, the staff made us feel so welcomed and special. The food and breakfast was so lovely. They even set up a birthday surprise and did our laundry for us with a smile :)

Das Hotel hat eine super Lage mit atemberaubender Aussicht auf die Berge und Wasserfall. Wir haben das Frühstück jeweils sehr genossen auf der Terrasse. Unser Zimmer war sehr gross und alles neu. Der Balkon ist gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Service war ebenfalls super!

The view was excellent Definitely wow factor view of Little Adams Peak Ella Rock and the Kuda Waterful all from our balcony.Well worth climbing down the 50 steps to the hotel on my crutches. Staff were exceptional, friendly and so helpful. Best variety of fruit for breakfast and lots of Sri Lankan sweet delicacies.

Would have liked more selection for breakfast as the sweet things weren't great for the diabetics.

Pokoj skvěle vybaven a má hezký design. Velké zrcadlo. Odpovědět odkládací prostor. Lednice, konvice, fén, kapesníky, koše, stěrka na vodu, ručníky i na ruce. Francouzské okno na balkon, který měl krásný výhled na okolí a vodopád. Majitelé ochotní, odnesou kufr, zajistí taxi nebo tuk-tuk, výlety . Velmi příjemní a nápomocni. Snídaně bohaté evropské i místní. Určitě bychom se sem vrátili.

Nad vchodovými dveřmi prosvítá světlo ze společenské místnosti. Nutno označit schod v koupelně. Dlažba v koupelně po namočení lehce kluzká, chce to opatrnost.

The upper rooms are good, but if you get one of the older rooms downstairs, there is a risk that it may smell of mold and the shower may not work properly. Personally, I would not stay here again, as the reality is different from what is presented there.

Great view from room and breakfast area. Hotel flexible with our stay at short notice! Staff were friendly, welcoming and polite. Rooms were lovely with a balcony overlooking the valley - amazing views. Breakfast was really good, a lovely plate of fruit with fresh pressed juice of your choice, followed by omelette, toast and Sri Lankan. Need to be aware of steep steps and slope to main road, didn’t bother us and hotel Tuk tuk available for the slope if needed. Steep 20 minutes walk to Ella but we enjoyed it.
