Astoria Residency

Astoria residency was overall good.

Time management - check-in was at 1pm and they couldn't provide anything as per our requirement for 8am check-in. Check-out was 11am with no breathing space to ensure that everything is packed. I would appreciate it if they had a spare place to refresh and keep our luggage till the check-in time. Also, the cab service is very poor.

Suggested for families who wanted to stay at prime locations. They had tissue paper access in the room, 20L water in the room, etc.. on the last night of our stay we had a situation where we needed the bedspread to change at 3.30 am, they did for us which was very helpful.

No major complaints as such. Would be better if they provide hot water access round the clock. Also like everyone said it's good to have an in-house restaurant, but we did order for tea at room service every morning and didn't take much time to deliver either.

Excellent service. The staff at the reception as well as those providing room service were prompt and courteous. Location is at a walking distance from main market and a couple of other tourist attractions in Ooty. The rooms are well maintained and clean and they are cleaned by the hotel everyday. Plastic is banned in Ooty but the hotel has been kind enough to provide large water flasks in every room to cater to the guests. They have paid minute attention to details like having tissue paper dispensers in each room.

No in house restaurant is the only drawback. While Swiggy and Zomato deliver to the hotel and the boy at the reception delivers right at your room, morning tea and coffee can get delayed. Especially if you are habituated to early morning tea or coffee. But no complaints on the overall service.
