Brilliant, fab location, large rooms and brilliant connections to public transport

Clean rooms, size is standard for japan. While it's near the subway, not much within the 10 min walk radius so you need to travel by bus or subway to the sites and malls.

Location is quite central. Front Desk staff is helpful.

We had a significant cash theft from our room at the hotel. We lost a total of $1700 over their stay of 5 days. At first they thought they had lost some money, but on the last day they had $700 left in the money pouch and by the time we got back at night it was all gone. It became evident that someone had entered the room and taken it. On investigation, it was found that while there was no room cleaning done daily, 2 housekeeping staff entered our room every day to change bath towels and empty the trash. These two staff were young international students who worked with an outsourced agency and were not hotel employees. We even filed a damage report with the Kyoto police but obviously the chances of getting the money back are nil. The front desk staff was helpful and cooperative and were clearly embarrassed as this is not the kind of thing that happens let alone their hotel, but in Japan!
