Karanga River Lodge

I stayed here for the second time after coming back from safari. Again it was a great stay. Comfortable, nice people and the food in the restaurant is really amazing. I had lunch and dinner and it was excellent.

Big and clean room with a good bed and very friendly staff. Very nice swimming pool as well.

This is a lovely little spot, outside of Moshi Town but relatively peaceful and with views of Kilimanjaro from the pool. The wifi worked well most of the time, and the service from staff was excellent as we were there during a quiet week. The breakfast and food on offer at the restaurant was good. The staff were really helpful in organising tuk tuks into town and a driver to take us to the waterfall for a reasonable price. We enjoyed being able to relax by the pool in the sun before starting our Kilimanjaro trek!

I will caveat this by saying that it was outside of the control of the staff, but there was a neighbour next door playing (mostly dreary or rap) music nonstop on some days; as in, they would play the same song on repeat for several hours at a time. One evening this went until about 1 am so we ended up using our earplugs to sleep.

Our stay at Karanga River Lodge was really great! Spacious room with a nice bathroom and shower. The pool was really nice and every day the staff put out chairs for us by the pool so that we could sunbathe ☺️ Breakfast was soo good - especially the fruits and fresh juice 😌 We had dinner there every night and the food was always delicious. Thank you!

Staff were very friendly and helpful in ensuring my stay was good. Breakfast was very good. The rooms were spacious and fit for purpose. The place is located in a quiet and peaceful area.

Agnes at reception was very friendly and helpful with all requests. Great to have a pool and a nice quiet neighbourhood - 5 min tuk-tuk into centre of Moshi, also some bars on the main road you can wonder up to. Food was very good.

A/C is the missing ingredient here - otherwise, a great value place to stay.

We stayed there to rest after a long haul flight and before a Safari VERY clean and confortable room Nice pool area with beautiful view of the Kilimanjaro Helpful staff at all times, very welcoming Good breakfast, we also had dinner twice and it was good Cute dog hanging around

Could use an AC because the rooms were hot even with the fan but I didn’t mind that much Also be mindful that there is open space between the toilet door and the ceiling which makes going the bathroom uncomfortable when sharing a room

The staff were very helpful and friendly especially Agnes. They organised a good trip to the falls, chagga village and coffee plantation for us. They obtained a cake for a birthday and sang happy birthday.
