Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos

This place is a gem. Beautiful period interior finish with polished wood look located on the edge of the Historical Centre, making it quiet yet an easy walk to the lively area. Hernan took care of airport pick up/drop off (its about 45km) and provided a tour of the volcanoe and Centre of the Earth. Dont miss it when in Quito, being on 0 degrees and leatrning the science in the museum is fun and a treat. My thanks to excellent the hosts.

Struttura molto bella, ben curata e tenuta, e molto molto pulita. Herman, su richiesta, può venire a prenderti all'aeroporto e noi ne abbiamo usufruito sia in andata che al ritorno. Herman ci avrebbe anche fatto una visita guidata gratuita di un paio di ore per Quito centro Historico; purtroppo non lo abbiamo fatto per un inconveniente che ci è successo. La struttura è nel centro Historico a 5' a piedi da piazza Independencia, la piazza principale di Quito centro Historico. Colazione servita con prodotti locali freschi. Consiglio vivamente la struttura.

Overall, we had a very positive experience at this hotel. Hernan was extremely friendly and kindly picked us up from and took us back to the airport, even though our flight times were very inconvenient. He also agreed at very short notice to drive us around the city for the whole day, showing us the main sights and recommending what to visit. The property was a secure, gated place. Everything was clean and tidy, and the hosts were always attentive, asking how they could make our stay even better. Our room overlooked a charming historic street, and the location felt safe, with the historic centre within walking distance and many restaurants nearby. One thing to keep in mind, although it is not specific to this hotel, is that in the country many places prefer cash payments, and paying by card may involve an extra fee, so it is better to prepare cash in advance.

The breakfast was delicious, and it was plenty of food. The tour that Hernan gave us was informative and eye opening. The other guests were very friendly, and we had a great time together. I recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Quito.

It is an exceptional property! Location is superb, in a very safe area of the old town, 5 minutes walk from the main squares and churches. Everything is neat, clean and decorated with remarkable taste. It is an old house from 1875, with a gorgeous Andalusian style covered courtyard, but with all necessary modern amenities. Signora Gloria and signor Hernan who are managing the hotel treat all the guests with utmost personalized attention and friendship. It feels like family and the place felt like being home. One gets an excellent, nutritious and beautifully presented breakfast, a free walking tour of the old town, including local knowledge and cultural learnings. They can arrange daytrips to surrounding areas and are the kindest and sweetest people in the world. Communication is easy, schedule is easily adapted to your needs. Rooms are very chic and have beautiful views over the neighborhood. I will definitely stay here again and I will recommend the place to all my friends as the perfect hotel in Quito.
