The Kandyan Manor by Bhathiya & Suzy

It is an old mansion, tastefully renovated. It’s quite big and has various rooms and common areas. It full of history and memorabilia from the owners’ family. Our room was big, the bathroom even bigger. It takes you back in time. It’s on hills within the city but right in the middle of the jungle so quiet and nice. We had dinner and the food was delicious. Breakfast is freshly cooked right in front of guests. The restaurant is on a platform overlooking the jungle

Estuvimos muy poco tiempo aunque nos hubiera gustado quedarnos más. Es una casa colonial preciosa, con jardín. Los dueños son muy amables y el desayuno es buenísimo.

Lo único que diría es que está un poco retirado de Kandy, pero esto también lo hace especial.

Everything. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the warm hospitality from Suzy and Bhathiya. Their place is beautiful and a lovely place to stay - a little out of Kandy but that makes it even more perfect in our view. It’s quiet and relaxing and after being out and about we loved sitting and enjoying the gardens or having a swim. Suzy is a wonderful cook too and was brilliant with my husband’s dietary needs (he can’t eat anything spicy which can be a little tricky in Sri Lanka!) Suzy was fantastic organising Tuktuks for us to get into town and a day trip to Sigiriya. Thanks for the wonderful stay and we hope to see you again, Tracy and Doug PS a back scratch for your lovely Labradors from us too 🐾

Bhathiya and Suzy are so lovely! They were really kind to me offering to drop me to the station super early in the morning and giving me some food for the trip. Sitting out overlooking their garden is beautiful.

Just be aware the location is a little outside of Kandy

Incredible!! From to start to finish - the communication with staff, stunning pool, interior design, homely touches, garden, view from the dining area, dinner and breakfast and staff. We were lucky enough to essentially have the whole manor to ourselves and the stay was a real highlight of our Sri Lanka travels.

Can’t fault a thing, wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing opportunity to share a beautiful family home surrounded by peace and quiet but only a short tuk tuk ride into Kandy which Suzy kindly sorted out. The food was delicious, breakfast and dinner, overlooking the lush garden - completely idyllic. The rooms are furnished with antiques and the beds are very comfy, could not recommend this place more!

Adore the decoration of the house the environment the breakfast room was amazing and generally it was such a nice environment

The bathrooms were a bit too old-fashioned. I would’ve liked them to be more modern.

Sehr nette Hosts, hübsche Anlage, tolles authentisches Essen, das mit fantastischer Aussicht in den Dschungel serviert wird; Liegen am Pool oder im Garten wären schön.
