Il Belvedere

We absolutely loved our stay at Il Belvedere in Torno — it was pure magic from start to finish. The beauty of the hotel and the little harbour of Torno took our breath away. We were a group of friends visiting Lake Como for the first time, and we couldn’t have landed in a better place. The location of Torno is one of the most beautiful spots on the lake — nestled in a narrower passage that still offers breathtaking, wide-ranging views of both the water and the surrounding mountains. It feels peaceful and authentic, yet close to everything. The hotel is family-owned, as is the neighbouring one, and that personal touch shines through in everything. Everyone we met — from the owners themselves to their close-knit team — was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, arranging everything from a fantastic wine tasting to great local recommendations for hikes and activities. The hotel feels brand new — elegant, fresh, and perfectly maintained. Our room had a lovely terrace with stunning views over the lake, and it was spacious and beautifully designed. On our first day, we did the classic Lake Como boat trip to Bellagio, and on the second we hiked directly from the hotel on a wonderful two-hour loop around Torno, finishing with a delicious lunch by the harbour. It was everything we hoped for and more. We left with full hearts and unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to the family who runs Il Belvedere — you truly made our weekend something special. We can’t wait to come back!

To be honest I have nothing to complain about only happy memories were made here.

The staff was exceptional and very helpful, the location was perfect for walking onto the Ferry and easily visiting all of Lake Como. Food excellent.

Från första stund kände vi oss som hemma, familjen som driver hotellet är helt fantastiska. De är inte bara professionella och serviceinriktade, utan genuint varma, omtänksamma och personliga på ett sätt man sällan upplever idag. Allt var så fint, från de vackra rummen och den sagolika utsikten över Comosjön till den underbara frukosten och de små gesterna som gjorde vår vistelse så speciell. Familjen ordnade även en otrolig vinprovning för oss och hjälpte till med alla våra önskemål, alltid med ett leende och ett hjärta av guld. Torno i sig är en pärla, och Il Belvedere är verkligen dess själ. Vi lämnar med varma hjärtan, fulla av tacksamhet och längtar redan tillbaka. Tack för allt, ni gjorde vår resa oförglömlig! 💛🍷✨

On a long trip thru Italy and Switzerland, Il Belvedere stood out as the gem. It was our favorite hotel by far. Everthything was beyond our expectations, from our charming and very clean room, to the luxurious bathroom, two (!) balconies with breathtaking views of Lake Como. The restaurant here was also our favorite on our trip. Delicious and local food served in a beautiful but unpretentious way. We were also grateful to be in Torno rather than Bellagio; it was a much less touristy town. We will dream of coming back again!
