I never write reviews, but some experiences are just too bizarre to keep to myself. We booked two nights here after seeing the promise of “free access to the daily wellness spa and facilities.” Sounded lovely. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Upon arrival, the receptionist greeted us with a tour and casually mentioned that the wellness area was closed for the summer because it’s hot. Yes, apparently heat is now an unexpected phenomenon in August, and the spa simply can’t cope. Odd, but fine — onward to the room. Oh, and she’d also told us there would be a complimentary “wellness bag” waiting in the room. Sweet touch, right? Keep that detail in mind. The room had no working air conditioning. We went back to reception to ask for the number to call them from our room. The same receptionist assured us she’d “turn on the AC for us now.” That’s… not how AC works, but okay. Back in the room, the AC was still dead. We tried calling reception — the number didn’t work. Back down we went. She insisted the number was correct and again promised to “turn it on right now.” Did I mention it was 35°C outside? Still nothing. Another trip downstairs, an hour passed in a room with no oxygen, this time greeted by a much friendlier receptionist who admitted the AC was broken and could only be fixed if we vacated the room which we reluctantly did despite being exhausted from travel.. Also, the phone number the first receptionist gave us? Wrong. Twice. The AC was eventually “fixed,” though “fixed” here means the room stubbornly hovered at 25–26°C the entire stay. without any way for us to control it. The explanation: it’s hot outside. Groundbreaking insight. The cherry on top? Turns out the wellness area was open all along — directly contradicting what we were told on check-in. So she lied about the phone number twice, the spa, and, as we learned later, the “complimentary” wellness bag. After checkout, we received a charming message saying we either return the bag or pay €90. awful experience

Mooi zwembad, zeer rustige locatie, goede uitvalsbasis, heerlijk terras voor het ontbijt

Weinig mogelijkheid om overdag iets kleins te eten of om iets te bestellen bij het zwembad. Aanwezigheid van personeel tijdens ontbijt kan beter, soms wat lang wachten tot je iemand ziet. Wij hadden door omstandigheden onze eerste nacht niet gebruikt (in plaats van aankomst om 22u in de avond waren we er pas de volgende ochtend). Het hotel was hiervan op de hoogte gebracht. Bij vertrek gepolst of er eventueel een geste van het hotel mogelijk was om een deel van de kosten van de eerste (niet gebruikte) nacht te compenseren, dit konden ze niet beantwoorden omdat we via booking.com hadden geboekt, we moesten die vraag aan Booking.com stellen. Gedaan, booking.com vraagt vervolgens aan het hotel of ze bereid zijn een geste te doen, maar daar komt direct ‘nee’ op als antwoord. Dat is een beetje teleurstellend. Als er sowieso geen bereidheid is, dan had het hotel me dat direct aan de receptie kunnen zeggen, en me de moeite kunnen besparen om booking.com te contacteren.
