The Fountaine Inn

Breakfast was OK the first morning but the order came out wrong on the second.

We ordered steak in the first evening which we couldn't eat as it was so tough and full of gristle we had to leave it.

Made to feel welcome straight away. Studio room was small but served our purposes fully. Clean, modern with all the trimmings. Beds were extremely comfortable. Evening dining and breakfast were superb. Staff were friendly and helpfull, especially the tall young lad who was ever so polite. We would have taken him home with us but no room on the motorbikes. A perfect last stop heading south on our tour of Scotland.

No dislikes whatsoever.

Great location, large filling brekky with good choice

Water went off numerous times when showering.

The location is great, in a little quiet and scenic village, but within 10 minutes walk to Grassington and Thresfield, so there are more things to do if you want to. The food was good pub food and you could eat in the restaurant or the pub itself.

The only niggle we had was we were on the ground floor and the people in the room above seemed to be up very early in the morning walking about, which we could hear clearly. Unfortunately the floor between us didn’t appear to be insulated, so our sleep was disturbed.

The studio room was so cozy and homely! The bed was another level of comfort, we will definitely be back! Having stayed in a lot of different hotels within the Dales, this is up there as our favourite!

A wonderful character pub in a delightful village in the Dales with self contained living accommodation to the rear

The only slight niggle, we stayed in The Alms Room which overlooked the pub kitchen and, with the window open, the noise from the extractor fan of the kitchen was quite loud. It does go off when the kitchen closes
