Potawatomi Inn & Cabins

We truly loved our time at the Potawatomi Inn and Pokémon State Park. Potawatomi Inn had such a welcoming environment, easy check-in, so many areas inside the Inn to relax with Family or read solo. Fireplaces always going. Beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable. Rooms gave us everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Inn, you can tell, was built to last and with quality. The restaurant was very roomy, wooden floors & tables, canoes overhead, wonderful buffet breakfast, off the menu lunches (Indiana Hoosier Tenderloin and large salads were our favorites!) But the best of all was the staff! Everyone was kind, welcoming, efficient and calm. I want to especially compliment Claire and Dez at the restaurant, they genuinely enjoyed making sure the guests had everything they needed. They were kind and efficient and positive about working with all co-workers, you could tell it was a good working environment. Thank you to Alex who is new at the restaurant, he heard us giving a compliment and on our last day at the Inn, in the restaurant said if you would like to share a compliment about Claire & Dez here is a card which will guide you in leaving a message. Thank you to all and the Taboggan Run staff who too were so helpful. Also supervisor of housekeeping, I believe that she has been with Potawatomi for awhile as she was very comfortable and knowledable about the Inn, very kind, and on top of things, she had short curly blondish hair. Thank you, we will be back!

I have been coming to this historic State Park and Inn for near 40 years, almost yearly. It is not the Hilton. Don’t expect the best. The beds are comfortable, bring your own food, the pool and sauna are nice. The hot tub is not as warm as you’d likely because there are kids all over as this is a family friendly place. The game room, craft room, toboggan run, nature center, hiking trails, fire pit, staff and large lodge fireplace room are all great. Yes kids will be running around. It’s a State Park so things aren’t updated and they are generally low on staff. Plan accordingly and you’ll have a great time. I personally don’t like the Historic rooms and pick ahead something better. Mostly as in the winter it is waaaay too hot for my liking in the historic part.

The room was comfortable but the heat never turned off. Despite the extreme cold we had to leave the window open to regulate the temperature. The breakfast was very basic. They had run out of milk so no cereals were available. It would be great if you added more fruits and vegetables, maybe yogurts and additives. We enjoyed playing cards and games in the lounge and loved the toboggan run, wished it was open during the week. Also enjoyed hiking trail 3. Wished that snowshoes were available during the week. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the coffee in the rooms.

The breakfast needs to improve. The toilets are very low to the ground. Could do with more tables in the lounge. Heating in the historic rooms never shut off. Too hot.

There was noise all night no way to sleep their 8am-10pm is not respected at all I have video recording of the noise at 138am.
