"BEWARE! The Hotel had me detaigned at the airport by police to extort money from me."

The hotel had me detained by police to extort cash from me. I asked for my credit card to be charged upon check-out, they said ok. The next day at Tbilisi airport, I was told I could not leave the country because the hotel had reported me as a criminal to the police. They forced me to open a local bank account and transfer cash before releasing me. This caused me to miss my flight, and delayed departure 24 hours. I had to purchase a new plane ticket and pay for an extra night of lodging. Not to mention a round trip to the airport, and pay international calls to my embassy and the police to resolve the situation. A REAL NIGHTMARE

Very convenient location, in the area of Turkish influence, with many Middle-Eastern cafes and restaurants. Nice balcony with a bustling street and mosque view. Very spacious room with all the facilities needed.

Some staff members spoke good English, some didn’t, but they tried to be helpful anyway.
