Hôtel de la Poste Sierre

Great location, terrific architecture, especially the dining room / restaurant and terrace. Outstandingly helpful reception person. We had booked a double room and were first given a room with two single mattresses together. We asked for a room with a double mattress and were immediately given for no extra cost the 3rd floor room, which is a spectacular tower room (if a little small) with views on three sides. Extremely comfortable bed.

Sierre has the main Rhône Valley railway line running through the middle of it, the noise of which must affect all properties in the historic centre of the town. But we cannot say that our night’s sleep was affected by it at all, and the hotel does offer ear plugs for anyone who might be a light sleeper.

This is a great choice if you stay in Sierre. The hotel is new, but in a wonderdul renovated bulding in the city centre. The room offers all you need, including a large bath with a bath tablet offered. We did not mind that the sink was in the room for this reason. The bed was big and comfortable.

The brekfast had a solid choice of sweet and salty dishes, though mostly cold.

Good storage space for bicycles.

Trains were a bit noisy but the hotel provided earplugs.

Had no breakfast / Room very very hot, although window fully open throughout the entire night / were informed by the receptionist that problem is known [very old building of 18th century] but A/C not (yet) allowed. What a pity!

High quality furnishings. Looks to be recently renovated. Clever room layout in the single room.

The room was a decent size with good ventilation and clean, comfortable amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful.

No real complaints. Air-conditioning would have been nice, but I don't expect that in European tourist hotels.
