Zapach starego zakurzonego domu. Wystrzępione ręczniki. To nie jest miejsce ani dla mniej sprawnych, ani dla grubszych osób - brak windy i strome schody. Łazienka mała i niewygodna. Tylko kilka miejsc parkingowych na ulicy - warto wcześniej sprawdzić ich dostępność.

Pod Orłem is a historic hotel built in the 19th century. It’s perfectly located on one of my favorite streets in Toruń—just steps away from Szeroka (Wide) Street, the main Old Town promenade. It's right there in the heart of the city where everything happens! The room doesn't have AC, but to my delight, the heavy-duty outside window shades did the job perfectly and made the room pitch black—exactly how I like it for a good night's sleep. The mattress was firm, which I also preferred. Parking is right outside the main entrance on the street, and the reception staff was very helpful. My room window faced the courtyard, so it was quiet—a huge plus, considering it's right in the center of a popular city's Old Town. ;) Very good price for such a location!

The pillows could use an upgrade; they were clean, but definitely worn out. Some guests might also complain about the old carpeting in the hallways or the creaky wooden stairs. But remember, this is a historic building, and - to me - the location easily outweighs any of those minor downsides.
