Balmoral Hotel, Belfast

I paid for the booking through Booking.com using my AMEX card .When I was about 5 mins away from the hotel I get a call from the staff informing me that I have to make the payment again using a different card as their system doesn't accept payment by AMEX. Thankfully there was no deduction from card.But then when I gave my other card to the girl at the reception she put my card details on her system.When I asked if my details were safe on the computer her reaction was if I was accusing them of misusing other people's cards.I held my nerve as I was tired and couldn't care enough to argue.Her colleague and older and wiser lady jumped in and assured me and also told me that she understood my concern. Honestly they need to hire staff like her not that young girl.

Location Was great. Hotel was comfortable. Staff were excellent and went the extra mile to make everything perfect

Shower curtain was smelly. Don’t think it had been changed. TV remote control was broken

The staff are very helpful and polite. The breakfast was good.

It was a bit noisy into the early hours of the morning as it was busy, the residents in the next room had their tv on loud enough for us to hear it quite clearly in our room and we had an 8mth old baby with us try to sleep.

I prefer larger bed ,only had a single one

The hotel is gorgeous and the room was beautiful, clean and well laid out. The breakfast was good with a great variety. The staff are friendly and helpful

As I find stairs a little bit difficult I was disappointed there was no lift. It was a little bit of a struggle but managed all the same

Carpet outside bedroom needs cleaning. Remote control in room faulty

Bar and restaurant very good 👍

Girls at reception were poor a course in communication skills would help and a smile
