Sids restaurant and bar with rooms

Great location I had room 7 with a wonderful sea view I couldn't have the breakfast because I had to leave before 9am so I got a ham cheese sandwich instead: nice attention from the staff

Convenient location for a visit with to our daughter who resides in Penarth but lives in 1 b/room flat. Nice location towards the end of the Promenade - all of the staff were very friendly & we were greeted by the owner (Sid) on arrival. Breakfasts were very nice + a good choice with GF options for my wife. Bed was very comfortable for our needs. Dog/pet friendly no issues with accommodating our small F/Bulldog We were also able to park directly outside the property but it is a 2 hour only spot with no return within 2 hours. We didn’t need the car for nearly 48 hours & never moved it (no parking ticket issued though?) There is no special agreement with the hotel so maybe we were just lucky this time.

Room was right over the bar so could an issue for some - but the bar closed at 8pm so not really an issue for us. Room was clean but some of the finishes were a bit poor - eg curtain closures & shower room decor relying on thick levels of silicon sealant. Toilet cistern 3 inches away from the wall? Shower OK but sounded awful with a shuddering sound continually.

The location of Sid's is excellent - on the Victorian Esplanade at Penarth with excellent views of the pier and seafront. The location was matched by the welcome we had from Sid and his team. Everyone was focussed on making our stay great. From watching the chef carefully arrange the components of breakfast on the plates, the food itself, the bar staff and choice of draft beers was all great. My abiding memory was of the welcome and the service we received.

The view from the bedrooms was greta. The rooms themself could do with a refresh, but were all adequate.

Sid was welcoming from the second we arrived. Food was 10/10 all staff were fantastic. We had live entertainment on the evening which was brilliant. Nothing was to much for them. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back in June

The place had a really welcoming feel and all staff were exceptional. Sid the owner is excellent with customers and his staff. He also. Ales an amazing breakfast 👍

Only issue was need some hanging up space in the room…but only there for 2 nights so wasn’t too much of an issue.

Staff and food were amazing. Very accommodating. I would highly recommend the Sri Lankan curry night.
