Selenya might look like a beautiful hotel, but the price-quality ratio is completely off.

Worse: the pricing is downright misleading and borders on a scam. At check-out, you are hit with an outrageous 28% surcharge: 10% for service and 18% for tax. This is not communicated upfront and on the menu the 18% tax is not explicitly mentioned. I have not seen anything this shady in 4 weeks traveling Sri Lanka. I had been clear from the start that I would pay the bill but provided feedback that I dislike these policies. the management responded with arrogance, refused to listen, and treated us with open disrespect. I have not encountered a single person from Sri Lanka who was not kind, interested and open minded. So not surprising that management are not from Sri Lanka. They are the opposite: cold, rude, and utterly unprofessional. Selenya is an insult to Sri Lanka hospitality.

We had an exceptional stay! We were so warmly welcomed and looked after so well during our stay. The friendly staff, beautiful location, stunning pool, spacious clean room and delicious food made our stay and anniversary celebration sensational. Thank you!

There was nothing we disliked!

Absolutely everything! It was so special, elegant and the service was personalised. The rooms were incredibly beautiful and comfortable. It was one of the highlights of our honeymoon relaxing on our balcony with a chilled wine and watching the waves. Couldn’t recommend it more!

I adored this boutique hotel. The room was so big and beautiful, the decor was stunning thought out the whole hotel. Every where was spotlessly clean . Food was really good. Ravidu was so amazing, he was always around and made such an effort to make sure you had everything you wanted. We also loved the location, so quick on a tuk tuk to Unawatuna town and not far to Galle and all other beach spots we wanted to check out all the way to Mirissa. But to stay it was perfect as it was quieter and right on the sea we have sea view room. The pool area was lovely , it was coming to the end of the season so often had it to ourselves. I would go back here and would highly recommend!

Amazing beautiful place. Swimming pool was always empty for us , sunsets are incredible there. Room is good 👍 Staff is very gentle and attentive. Special big thanks to the chief - cooker: food was amazing , literally the best one at Sri Lanka which we tried. He was very attentive , always coming to ask whether we enjoyed dishes or not.

everything was great, perfect, location, staff, rooms breakfast, food... Suresh and rest of the staff were very kind and helpful. idefenetly will come back here. 100% recomended

Lovely villa with great sea view and easy access to Galle and Unawatuna.

We were initially given a room with no balcony over looking the pool a despite paying for a sea view. The staff were never around and not good communicators - for example - they didn’t mention we needed to leave our room key in order for the room to be cleaned.

This hotel is wonderful! We were upgraded to 2 fantastic rooms, the pool and beach area are beautiful and the staff are lovely. The breakfasts were fantastic too, as was other food that we ate there. We liked the location too - very peaceful - and then we got a tuktuk into Unawatuna in the evenings to eat. Highly recommend!

This is nitpicking, but I think Lion beer was the only alcoholic option unless you wanted to order a whole bottle of vodka or gin. I fancied a cocktail but none were available. It was fine, I had juice which was delicious and probably better for me!
