Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, safe and clean accommodation.

Very good location, close to restaurants, shops, banks. Clean and comfortable room, nice balcony. Safe area. Rooftop terrace. You can pay by bank card.

More difficult to communicate with the staff if you don't speak French. They didn't change the bed linen and towels in 4 days. There was no soap in the bathroom. The bathroom was very wet after using the shower. Air conditioning and breakfast for an additional fee. The breakfast area is at the reception.

The staff were exceptional. Always kind and helpful. I don't speak French well but they were so patient with me as I tried to figure out how to say something in French. The room was clean and air conditioner, which you need to pay extra for, worked really well, which was essential for me with the heat and humidity.

Not at all the fault of the guesthouse, which is why i still rated this property a 10, but there was construction right in front of the windows. It did feel uncomfortable using the bathroom when a man's face was right in the window. I eventually taped up some cloth to give myself more privacy. I'm confident that the staff would have helped me out if I mentioned it.

I stayed here three weeks prior, at the beginning of my Benin trip. I had such a wonderful experience that I made sure to return when it was time for me to get my return flight home from Cotonou. As previously, the staff was excellent. The room was clean and spacious and the air conditioning, which you pay extra for, helped me sleep well. I had a flight leaving at 1 in the morning. Benoit knew that no one reserved the room for that night so he let me know that if i wanted, i could stay a few extra hours so I could rest prior to my very, very long flight home. This was above and beyond for me. The extra rest time made such a difference and I am so grateful that Benoit extended this generous offer to me.

As with my previous experience here, there was construction next door, pretty much an arm's length away from the windows. I personally had no major issue with it. I do not blame the property as this is out of their control but adding this information just to provide a full picture of what to expect with Karl's Guesthouse. Hopefully, construction will be completed soon.
