"Central and picturesque location, and ideal if only in Izamal for a short visit."

Superb location, right on central square, yet room was quiet. Lovely old colonial style building, & all the main places to visit are within about 15 minutes’ walk, although some are ‘next door’.

I found the apparent life of the two turtles in the entrance pond rather distressing, cute as they were. The air con was noisy but necessary, tho fine to switch off later in the night when cooler.

Tout!!!!!! Magnifique propre tout ce qu’il faut! Le matin café ou thé offert plus tartines grillées beurre et confiture,possibilité d’ajouter à la petite cafétéria et du manger très bien aussi!!! Et franchement pour 36 euros la nuit 🤗

"An amazing hotel in an amazing town."

An amazing hotel in an amazing town. I think it has the ruins of an actual Mayan pyramid at the back of the courtyard. An impressive colonial building with some wacky but compelling decor (a plastic tree on a ledge about 6 feet up in a room with like a 15 foot ceiling? Ok. A stellar view of the ex-convent and located right in the heart of town, footsteps from the bus station. I found it really welcoming and characterful. The staff didn't speak much English but they were friendly and helpful. Izamal is a memorable destination. Both town and hotel highly recommended.

Should have stayed longer.
