Hotel Villa Mahal

The setting is genuinely lovely - Mediterranean views that justify the journey, proper sunsets, staff who are not the problem. On these points, no complaints whatsoever.

However, one ought to know that soundproofing is not among the resort's listed amenities, nor, it turns out, an unlisted one. The open terraces compound matters considerably. You will, in effect, be sharing your holiday with your neighbours with a degree of intimacy that most people reserve for immediate family. Expect to become intimately acquainted with their affairs - all delivered in a splendid British accents, and none of it requested. Expect marital relations conducted with commendable enthusiasm, which we found not exactly welcome, but, given the average age of the participants, oddly admirable. Should fortune favour you, expect a British gentleman airing his willy in the sea breeze with the confidence of a man who has earned it. Whether any of this befalls you is, admittedly, a matter of chance. We simply suggest you arrive prepared. The views remain excellent though, and the coffee is genuinely good. One clings to these things. P.S. One mystery, however, shall pursue me to my grave. On one otherwise unremarkable afternoon - a Tuesday, should that prove relevant - the cleaning lady left a bath mat in my half-open suitcase. Whether this was an innocent accident or the Turkish equivalent of a horse’s head in the bed, I fear I shall never know. I left a generous tip, just in case.

Tudo neste hotel é incrível! Os quartos simples mas lindos e muito confortáveis. Varanda com vista maravilhosa! Recantos lindos por toda a propriedade. Restaurante, bares e beach club super giros, confortáveis e com excelente atendimento. Não tenho nada a apontar. Um sonho!

The location is exceptional, the view is unbeatable wherever you are, the staff are very attentive and friendly. It’s my favourite hotel and beach club if you enjoy beauty, nature and peacefulness on the beautiful Mediterranean. I have been going for 13 years and it is still up to date on every little detail.

Отдельно хочется отметить персонал отеля — все сотрудники без исключения очень вежливые, внимательные и доброжелательные. Любой вопрос решается быстро и с искренней улыбкой, благодаря чему чувствуешь себя по-настоящему желанным гостем. На территории отеля расположен прекрасный ресторан с очень вкусной кухней и потрясающим видом. Также приятно удивило наличие бесплатной лодки, которая в любое время может отвезти гостей в центр Калкана. Номера просторные, безупречно чистые и комфортные. Но самое впечатляющее — это вид из окон на невероятную бирюзовую лагуну. Каждое утро начинается как открытка, а закаты здесь просто невозможно забыть. Территория отеля утопает в зелени и выглядит даже красивее, чем на фотографиях. Каждый уголок продуман до мелочей и создает ощущение уединенного оазиса среди природы. Спасибо всей команде Villa Mahal за незабываемый отдых. Это одно из тех редких мест, которые превосходят ожидания и остаются в сердце надолго.

We staid in one of the villas rather than in the hotel itself. Beautiful accommodation over three floors in a private setting with sea views and a choice of using the villa's own pools or descending to the shore for a swim, snorkel or paddle in the sea. Direct access to the sea is great: no need to drive to an overcrowded beach. Not suitable for non-swimmers or children due to deep water; and the site is not suitable for the infirm either: there are plenty steps to climb (Motto "181 steps to heaven"). The on-site restaurant serves a very nice breakfast, and in the evening you can enjoy a tasty dinner at the water's edge. Yoga was lovely. We didn't try the massage. There were a few mosquitoes out at night. A small quirk of the open plan design of our villa was the open stairwell to the upstairs bedroom. It results in a certain lack of privacy for the inhabitants of this otherwise beautiful room, and exposes them to the sounds from below (we ended up turning off the ice cube machine in the kitchen at night). The lower floor bedroom on the other hand has its own separate entrance, affording maximum privacy. Staff was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Everything was clean and well cared for. Daily house cleaning was offered. All requests were attended to promptly. Very civilized - we enjoyed our stay greatly.

Stunning location, beautiful hotel and gardens, friendly service with a complimentary water taxi to Kalkan.

Price of food and beverage, however food was delicious.

The breakfast was good and we had one dinner there and the food was delicious. The lunches were light and well though through. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and responsive, providing us with a duvet as we were cold at night.

As we were staying towards the end of the season, the staff were a little 'checked out' which is understandable but there was quite a wait every day at lunch for service.
