Chateau Montagne Hotel Troyan

The breakfast was good but that was about all we liked.

The room was very tired / dated. The bathroom smelt very bad the whole time [from the drain in the floor] and it could be smelt in the room. We had to put the bath mat over the drain in the floor and leave the extractor on all night. The bed was passd its best and the pillows were awful - huge foam blocks with no give in them. We had dinner in the restaurant and had to send the food back as it was hardly luke-warm when we got it. It was more expensive than many of the other hotels we stayed in in Bulgaria - all of which were far far better.

The furniture and interieur of the rooms and basement are old and need to be maintained and replaced.

There isn't a jacuzzi in the spa area...

Stayed one night in winter, attended sauna ). Everything is clean, comfortable. Free parking, I saw gym but didn't visit it. Food in restaurant is tasty. Atmosphere is cosy. Staff is very fliendly.
