The Dornie

Very friendly and attentive staff! Check-in (on Sunday) via attached bar. Owner (?) showed us the room and explained everything, especially in relation to the bar/restaurant. Parking across, easy to get to, plenty spots. No elevator, a few stairs up and down for our room. No problem for us but could be a bit challenging for others. Room was fine but honestly pretty small. Modern, small bathroom with large shower, no complaints. Beds comfy. Everything well taken care of, overall very clean. We had dinner at the restaurant, we can recommend it. There were lots of staff, attentive and well organized. We appreciate this as we have seen it unfortunately way too many times the other way. Not here, well done. Breakfast was included (for us) and was very nice, including options for different types of eggs etc, a true local, full on breakfast.

Nothing really. All fine if one does not require a large(r) room for some reason.

La habitación en si estaba ok. Con paredes muy finas. Escuchamos los vecinos hasta tarde hablando. El baño fue demasiado pequeño. Con una mini ducha, un inodoro que no funcionó y que se movía al sentarse. Y cuando abrí el agua caliente en el lavamanos, primero no salió nada y de repente con mucha fuerza y super caliente. El desayuno algo triste. Falta queso o algo de embutido. Solo hay mermelada para el pan.

The room had everything we needed, and was super comfortable. It is so close to the Eilean Donan Castle, which is amazing.

I think the hotel is understaffed, so checking in took quite a bit of time as there were no one to assist me. Luckily a kind lad helped me check in while the other staff was checking other people in, so everything turned out well.

A bejárati ajtók szorultak és bárki bement a szobájába az csapódással, zajjal járt. Egyébként minden más rendben volt. Köszönjük.

Man muss bei der Ankunft an der Bar warten und wird dann aufgefordert sofort das Zimmer zu bezahlen. Anschließend wird man dann durch Gänge hinter dem Restaurant entlang in den Teil mit den Zimmern gebracht. Auf dem Weg wurde von der nicht besonders freundlichen Angestellten noch schnell die Tür zu einem Zimmer mit Gerümpel geschlossen. Insgesamt war der Empfang lieblos. Das Zimmer sah erst besser aus als erwartet, leider hielt der Eindruck aber nicht lange an. Mehrere Haare im Bett, Aussicht auf den Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel mit abgestellten Kisten und anderem Gerümpel. Wenn hierhin Hotelzimmerfenster gehen, sollte man auch etwas aufs Erscheinungsbild achten. Das Schlimmste war aber das Badezimmer. Die komplette Decke war verschimmelt! Offensichtlich hatte man versucht das zu überstreichen aber der schwarze Schimmel kam überall durch. Für den Abzug an der Toilette fehlte der Knopf, das Waschbecken war das Winzigste das ich je gesehen habe obwohl ein Größeres in das Badezimmer gepasst hätte, noch dazu kein Spiegel über dem Waschbecken. Der hing stattdessen über dem Klo. Das habe ich noch nie erlebt. Ich würde auf gar keinen Fall wieder hier buchen! Ich hätte diese Sachen auch angesprochen aber leider war niemand beim Checkout da. Uns ist dann auch klar geworden wieso man das Zimmer sofort bei Ankunft zahlen soll. Sonst würden sich vermutlich mehr Leute beschweren.
