The breakfasts, an optional charged extra, were of a very high standard. There was an excellent choice and the items available were fresh and of a superior quality, from the coffee to the rolls and fine cheeses. The breakfast room was modern and had plenty of light. The accommodation, although modest in size and on the first floor, was clean and quiet, but reached only by a staircase. Our room overlooked a natural stream, fringed with greenery. The ensuite bathroom was modern and the shower was easy to use.

The room provided was rather small and the facilities in this Guesthouse were rather basic. There was no bar of soap, shampoo or body lotion, such as found in most hotel rooms. No kettle for making tea or coffee in the room was provided or made available to guests. We especially felt this lack because the breakfast room was situated in a separate building some distance on foot from the sleeping accommodation and was only open during breakfast hours. We could only find a single available TV channel in the English-American language on the room TV. We also found that the wi-fi provided excluded telephone communication via apps such as WhatsApp, which was annoying.

Very unhelpful place if you don’t read or speak German and have the misfortune to arrive after reception shuts I in the early evening

For those with limited German and who arrive after reception shuts in the early evening, access to the room you have booked is very difficult. We were ultimately helped by a passer by who spoke German on our behalf to the person at the end of the phone you are directed to call by means of a notice, in German only, on the door of reception
