O Pierre - Fontainhas

Lovely heritage building in the heart of the Fontinhas district of Panaji with everything within walkable distance. The staff were very attentive and warm and made our stay comfortable.

Our room could have done with a deep clean, particularly under the beds and bathroom. The floor felt sticky and unpleasant. Also note we used a taxi driver recommended by the hotel. Suggest using Goa Miles or looking into your own taxis as we definitely got over charged not once but twice!

We had a large twin on the 3rd floor which was spacious and light with a good fan and a/c. We stayed 3 nights. The breakfast was fine, but the seating space for breakfast was limited and we ended up going to Mo's Cafe a few steps away instead to get a good coffee. Some staff were friendly, others quite functional, but all were helpful. Great food nearby - especially Larder and Folk, and we really enjoyed the restaurant next door - Ourem. The hotel has a great position in Fontainhas. From Dabolim airport we used the 'pre-paid airport taxi counter' and it cost 1100 rps - you pay cash to the driver on arrival, but the price is set beforehand. V easy. There was also a Goa Miles counter but you need to have loaded money onto the app before you can used this (they told us). We used the hotel's recommended driver to take us to Palolem (3500rps), he was good and his car was comfortable. Can probably get a cheaper deal by negotiating with the local taxis but the car may not be as comfortable and may not have a/c. We used a local taxi to Old Goa (worth a visit) which cost 700rps and got a local bus back for 20rps. I would return to O Pierre as we didn't see anything else that looked better in the area. We stayed one night at Mateus Hotel nearby later in the trip which was characterful but had zero sound insulation.

The bathroom was not well cleaned. There was not a single hook in the bathroom, or in the room, to hang towels or anything else. In spite of so much space in the room there was nowhere to put anything. The room safe was miniscule and needed to be reprogrammed from scratch everytime it was opened.

De centrale ligging is geweldig. Kamer was groot, luxe en comfortabel.

Het hotel kan er niets aan doen maar we hebben erg veel last gehad van een groep mannen die ook in het hotel verbleven en ontzettend luidruchtig waren.

Location! Ideally located in the Fontainhas area with a short walk to Panjim city centre.

Floors were very dusty.
