Hotel Gibswilerstube

The outside playground for kids is amazing, be prepared to pay for some attractions but it’s totally fine. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very nice.

Breakfast was not great.

We have stayed for 5 nights. the hotel is very clean and organized and new, and the room is spacious, very clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free parking and there is a railway station just 2 or 3 mins walk from the hotel. There is also a shop in the building, so it's easy to buy snacks and fruits.

1. the breakfast area is quite big,but I didn't understand why our family just sit the same table at the entrance, we can't sit in a desk with good view. 2 the 1st breakfast is more abundant, maybe in a weekend ?the other days were different. but of course still quite good.

Bread and fruits were fresh every morning. I was happy to find gluten free buns in the breakfast. Staff was friendly and cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. Free parking at the hotel. Though we were driving, but the hotel was very close to the local train station.

The breakfast was average, nothing exceptional. Fewer options in the breakfast, there were only boiled eggs, for example. It was good 40-45 mins away from the Zurich Airport, but the drive was worth the locality.

Views of the mountains from the room balcony, good shower, excellent buffet breakfast. Volg supermarket located conveniently downstairs.

Third bed was the lounge with a mattress, room balcony was accessed through the bathroom.

Fresh meat & cheese. Nice to have.

Hot meal for breakfast would be good.

The room where we stayed seemed like a newly renovated one. All facilities were of a very good standard - mattresses, faucets, etc. The room as well as the shower were spacious and the design of them was also very nice. The hotel was attentive to our request sent in advance, to reserve for us a quiet room.

In the bathroom near the sink, were medications that were not ours and probably were left there by previous guests. The breakfast was quite basic without a buffet but just pre-organized plates covered with plastic wrap. The lady explained to us that on Mondays they do not open the buffet, we did not see in advance any note on it while booking. We were not informed by the receptionist that the main doors to the hotel are locked at a certain time in the evening and so I found myself out of the hotel. In my case it was not a problem as there was still a lady at the restaurant that cleaned there the floor (and my wife was in our room at that time).
