I had a wonderful stay! The staff was fantastic and went above and beyond to be helpful, informative, and pleasant in every interaction. Registration was quick and easy, with a lovely little reception area and really nice welcome snacks and beverages. The unit was like a great little apartment — I was in town on business and really appreciated the kitchenette and seating area separate from the loft bedroom. I loved the welcome bottle of wine, deluxe coffee and tea set up (esp that first morning when I was pretty groggy from jet lag), and very nice spa-level bathroom amenities. WiFi was easy to login to and worked perfectly throughout my stay. Location was AMAZING — right in the middle of all the lively pedestrian streets full of cute shops, cafes, and restaurants. **Follow-up note: I had a package delivery hassle that was dragging on and on with a local company (package that was meant to be delivered to the hotel during my stay but never made it) and the staff was SO helpful in getting it resolved-- for a week after I had checked out! I really can't say enough complimentary things about how kind and hospitable everyone at the Haarlem Hotel Suites is and how much they helped me fall in love with Haarlem. Dank je wel!

There was a strong sulfur/musty smell in the bathroom. At first I thought perhaps it just needed to be aired out (that maybe no one had stayed in the unit for awhile or something), but it got progressively worse during my stay and the smell persisted even with the fan running constantly and the door open. I had full days of business away from the unit while I was in Haarlem, so I didn’t experience it that much, but it seems like something that should be checked out. I had read about the steep stairway to the loft and it was indeed very steep and with very shallow (short) steps, only allowing about three inches of my foot on each stair tread. (For U.S. readers — this would definitely not be up to code! :) It required my full attention when going up and down (esp in the night to use the bathroom) but was not a big issue. I am told these kind of stair ladders are quite common here, but I would recommend caution for this particular unit if a guest has any mobility or coordination issues. The street was pretty noisy at night. Also on the advice of a former guest, I brought earplugs — which helped — but the revelers on Friday night were still pretty loud — esp when the bars closed. And though charming, the church bells were also very loud and rang regularly through the day and night. Not at all a deal-breaker for this charming and spotless stay -- I mean, you give up some tranquility in order to be in the fun middle of the action -- but something to know.

Tv wasn’t working properly but we never watched it anyway, and stairs are very steep for anyone with mobility problems but fine for us

Locatie was top! Personeel was heel aardig en behulpzaam. Het appartement had alles wat we nodig hadden, zeker een aanrader!

Het is een klein beetje gehorig.
