The Glenburn Penthouse

Location was great - very close to park street. The property is very tastefully done up. The staff are very courteous and efficient. The food is excellent.

The view from the room wasnt particularly great. It opened into one of the neighbouring buildings and not the Victoria park. Also the rooms need sound proofing as the noise from vehicles on Park Street can get loud

Service was generally excellent - led by Stefan Location great - in walking distance of Victoria Memorial, Park Street and shopping as well as cultural areas Room design was lovely Very good breakfast View from the pool was amazing (when we could actually go up there...)

Food and drink at the New Years Eve dining service was pretty poor. We turned up half way through and food was clearly just left out at the start with no one checking freshness or topping up. It’s not what we would have chosen to eat and in retrospect should have gone out for cheaper and much better quality food. It was also frustrating that we couldn’t see a menu in advance (I asked a few times and couldn’t find on the website or Instagram page) to make a decision, and we were charged extra for a full “wine flight” (5 glasses each) but between us only had 3. Most irritating thing about our stay was that for the majority of it we were unable to access the rooftop pool area as it was booked out 3 times across 2 days for private events. It’s one of the main reasons we chose to stay here and we were only able to use it for Max 30 minutes. There was no prior warning (at booking or closer to the stay) and was really frustrating. You can’t charge exorbitant prices to guests, using a facility as a key draw to entice them, only to then make it out of bounds. We didn’t even get to sit up there for 5 minutes at New Years because they were setting up for another private booking!
