Amalia Hotel Nafplio

We have just returned from an overnight stay in the hotel. Its location is excellent for easy accessibility to Nafplio Town. The bedroom and bathroom size were larger than normal, reception staff very welcoming and helpful, swimming pool exceptionally clean and breakfast , varied and plentiful. I would definitely recommend the hotel , particularly as it is well placed to visit Mycenae and Epidavros.

If you have a car, this hotel provides a hassle-free way to visit Napflion - it's only about a 5 minute drive from the hotel to the very large freek parking area at the port, and from there you can walk to almost anywhere in the Napflion historic area in probably 5-10 minutes. It was our preference to stay here vs. trying to park in or near Napflion and then lug bags to some hotel in the historic zone with zero nearby parking. The hotel has plenty of parking in the lot. Hotel is very modern and spacious - LOTS of public areas to sit and have a drink, eat, read a book, etc. - we used these spaces extensively rather than sitting in our room. Hotel breakfast was very nice - quality food with lots of choices. Appreciated that we could charge food (bar + restaurant) to our room and deal with the bill just once at check-out. We didn't use the buffet dinner (too costly), but we did have two dinners in the cafe - found the food to be surprisingly good for hotel food.

The hotel caters to large tour groups - on occasion they tend to 'take over' certain facilities. Once I found a line of 15 people - each person with one or more suitcases - waiting for the elevator - it would have been an annoyingly long wait so I took the stairs. One morning probably 3/4 of the tables in the breakfast area had 'RESERVED' signs on them for the groups and we were forced to sit at a table that wouldn't have been our first choice.
