A bit tied, bathroom brick is very cold even though it was 24 degrees. A shelf in the shower would be a benefit and maybe a couple of hooks.

Reefton is a surprisingly cool place ... really liked it. Dawsons Hotel so handy and has a nice restaurant and bar; even trivia night if you time it right. And reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

For us, two beds farther apart or a separate bedroom would've been best - my bad not yours - due to one of us (not saying who) being a loud snorer!

Great place to stay, friendly staff. Recommend highly for that authentic Coast hospitality.

Honestly not a lot, the food was really good enough but as a chef I know the cost of what was brought out and served compared to how much we paid for it, we had a buffet for 30ish people don't know why but that happened to be what the publican decided was easier for the hotel staff I think. however we had a buffet that also had all the specials on the blackboard that night which would have cost less than $25 for the meal if we purchased it at the bar and we were charged $45 per person even for our toddler that ate nothing, we had a room which absolutely stunk of wet carpet and mould, beds were ok, but an extortionate price for the room given the dated decor and smell. The staff were all amazing apart from the elderly gentleman doing the buffet watching over it like a hawk, looking like he wanted to be anywhere but running his business and looking after the people that probably paid his wages for the rest of the week, just from our food bill. Honestly I would recommend calling in and having a beer, wouldn't recommend the family room but the smaller refurbished rooms were nice, extremely unhappy with the food cost, but it's a pub where accommodations ain't really available so they get away with charging whatever they want.
