Nammbú Beach Front Bungalows

We had a huge room and beautiful views that looked out onto the beach. The pool was amazing and the guy behind the bar was brilliant. our room was nice and clean.

We feel there was a huge staffing issue here. the staff did not seem to be connected to each other. It felt like they had no real management. We went for our honeymoon and spent a lot more money than we normally would do for a very special occasion! There was no mention of this, all the other hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica gave us such a warm welcome which we did not receive here. (to be fair when we mentioned this they did bring us a plate of treats, but it felt a little too late!) We had a couple of issues with the room - the hot tub on the balcony would have been lovely but it was dirty, cold water and took aaaages to fill up (and smelt like egg). The shower randomly cut out on me when I had shampoo in my hair.... fast forward to my new husband watching me crouch naked under the foot tap to rinse my hair out! haha. We were asked what we could do to make our stay better (as we complained about a few things) we asked for a discounted massage, which they said yes to. When we went down the next day, there was no one at the spa and no one seemed to know what was going on! eventually once we asked the bar guy to call reception, he told us there had been trouble with the staff getting to the hotel. Bit of a joke when this was meant to be complimentary! My husband also got stung by a scorpion in the room which did not help matters. I am vegetarian and there are very limited options. When I asked for vegetarian fajitas their first reply was 'it will cost the same ok?' When we left, we nearly got charged for the whole massage (we finally received) we had to tell the receptionist it was discounted. The staff did not feel happy in their work :( The hotel is absolutely brilliant! but the service and attention to detail let us down.

Amazing location, great swimming pool with a stunning view of the sea perfect to admire the sunset and a lovely bar. Very nice staff. Breakfast restaurant with fantastic view. Great beach just across the road with access directly from the hotel. Great view of nature and sea also from the room which had big windows and a little patio outside.

Cleanliness could be better in the room and the bathroom. Shower head dated and bad water pressure.

Grounds are beautiful but would be very hard to maneuver if not in shape.

Really wonderful nice big rooms and the pool with the view to the ocean is amazing.

I couldn’t buy anything at the bar and book it at my room number. For that I would have needed to create an account during check-in. Unfortunately no one mentioned that during check-in. In other hotels it is a standard that you can use your room number / key to buy beverages at the bar or food in the restaurant without any additional administrative work.

Buffet breakfast for $25USD not worth it. Hotel should install street lights for the street crossing to the beach to improve the safety of their guests or offer transport shuttles as the stairs to the hotel after 6pm are also without any lights.
