Lake Pichola Hotel

Perfect location. Easy to get to the major spots. Lovely to be by the lake. Great food on the rooftop and views.

A seedy, rundown hotel with old broken furniture. Room was not the one booked, coffee pot was broken, hair dryer did not work, and bedspread and pull curtains were filthy. Would never return.

Cars cannot go into the old city so you need to transfer luggage and switch to an auto rickshaw to get to the hotel. Repeat the process upon departure. Outside areas were Astro turf and dead plants! Yucky dirty feeling to the whole hotel.

Location was really good, its hard to tell on a map how far things are and initially I thought I wanted to be on the other side of the lake nearer the city palace but it is only a few minutes walk from the hotel across the bridge to the palace. The hotel is lovely, rooms with balcony right on the lake and the rooftop terrace for dinner, what a view and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel

Amazing view with private balcony overlooking the lake.

You can only book a table for dinner at 7pm or 9pm. If you book the 7pm slot there is no bar to go to for a drink after your meal, although on the website it shows a bar, it does not exist. If you are a couple then you will be sat at very high bar stools and tables to eat your meal, we found this quite uncomfortable. The hotel seemed far more interested in accommodating the people arriving from outside the hotel rather than their guests. The bathroom was really not very clean, black mould around the taps and overall the hotel felt quite dirty in places.

Everything. The staff, architecture, old school kitschy charm. The incredible view & outdoor verandah from the Lakeside Room. Rooftop restaurant. Nice cocktails & good food. Live music at breakfast & in the evening. Location to old city is an easy walk. 20-30mins walk to the Palace. I love this place. Sure, it’s a bit run down here & there but the overall charm & lovely staff outweigh any of that. Bathrooms are clean & room has everything you need. There’s even enough room to roll out a yoga mat! I love hearing the temple prayers throughout the day & sometimes music from across the lake but shit the verandah door & the volume decreases significantly. Sunrise from your verandah with a cuppa is just beautiful. A great hotel to chill & enjoy being in India without leaving your room 🪷🕉️🪷
