Tripli Hotels Le Shelton

The hotel is located near the railway station and other tourist places which was the best part and my reason for choosing this hotel.

The room was not spacious. There was not even a single chair, table to sit and have your meals. There were no hooks and racks in bathroom to keep and hang the clothes. The rooftop pool was not clean and didn't find it safe to swim in it with kids. I also had some issue with my belongings after we left the room for cleaning in morning, so didn't find it safe to stay with kids and family.

The price spent on the room is very high as compared to the price.

The room that I had booked from Booking.com was not available. Another room was given instead.

It was relatively close to the railway station.

Firstly, when I arrived, the staff member on the front desk tore the observations page of my passport while scanning it. I have contacted my embassy and they have advised me that I must apply for a new passport (which will cost me €100). Secondly, I then went to my room, which was disgusting to put it mildly. There were black, sticky stains in the toilet seat, a constant smell of urine in the bathroom and there were stains on the walls of the room. Plates are left in the hotel corridors after dinner and they seem to be left there for hours until someone collects them (no wonder why there is a rat problem in the area). Third point, pillows were very uncomfortable. Before you read on, let me remind you that this is supposedly a 4 star hotel in a very touristic city. I spoke on the phone with the manager regarding the passport incident, I would have been within my right to ask for a full refund on the hotel considering the cost I will have to pay to get a new passport, but instead I asked them to waive the 1,400 rupees laundry fee (a very high amount). The manager, who was quite understanding about the passport situation, agreed to waive the charge. I was told that the laundry would be ready for collection that evening at 6pm. At around 10pm, I asked if the laundry was ready and I was told that it would be ready at 9am the following morning. At 11am the following morning I enquired again and was told it would be ready at midday, this time they were correct. On the second last morning, my doorbell rang (waking me up), when I went to answer no one was there. On the last of 3 nights, there were other guests on my floor shouting and talking extremely loudly until after midnight and the following morning my phone in the room started ringing at 9:30am, I answered and there was nobody on the other end.

Untrained staff, Not warm welcome

We've been at Tripli Hotels Le Shelton in April 2025. We decided to spend here a night because it is near the train station. We liked the room, was clean with a soft bed. The shower was warm and we had a pleasant stay. We tried also the food, quick service and medium-high quality.

We had problems with payment because they had not the change. I think that is not possible that a hotel does not have some money for change but still does not allow to pay by card.

Everything, The staff is great, the food is great, and the service is excellent
