Papaver Hotel

Location. Great breakfast. Easy parking. Good location next to lake.

Noise from parties eventhough this was advised after booking... sbe told b4hand. Not told about hiring bike, local walks etc. Did not enjoy eating alone on conference room whilst evening party used the main dining room for party.

Surroundings

Bad experience. In advance we were informed that there could be 'some inconvenience' due to events at night. It appeared to be a party with discobar on the floor below our room (on both Friday and Saturday). Furthermore, no access to the bar was possible during the parties, and only after insisting for a long time staff would serve us a drink (reluctantly). Poor breakfast and no housekeeping during our stay of three nights. The 'hotel' clearly focuses on parties rather than on providing a pleasant time for its guests.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room - comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included in the price and very various. We were with our 2 dogs and there was no problem. As a surprise we have discovered that we are VERY close to LICHEN SANCTUARY which we visited the next day. Magnificent! Will recommend to everyone.

location: on lake (not a nice access however and not a lake I would want to swim in - this in spite of the fact that hundreds of triathletes did swim in it during the first leg of their competition during my one-night stay), with easy access to miles of country roads for cycling (I got in a lovely 52-mile ride before leaving).

very simple digs, small room, not a good bed, noisy (in spite of hotel policy for quiet after 10 pm), poor breakfast (including no coffee - machine was broken), broken glass on drive in front of hotel (no one cleaned it ip, especially surprising considering the hotel had several competitors there, with their high-end road bicycles for the competition), very weak English skills (though staff was pleasant enough). Note: Before you judge, I speak 6 languages. I feel hotels using Booking.com, advertising in English, ought to have someone at the front desk who speaks some English.
