Rooms at The Angel

Friendly staff. Clean room. Only comment would be no room service for top up, clean cups etc as we were there for 2 nights. Would stay again

Good location, the room was nice and glean.

We arrived and we're told there is a private party for 16 year old plus teenagers, the room was over the venue. Late night noise and fighting in the garden, it was packed with teens. Further noise later from nearby rooms probably party guests. Sadly not being made aware of this booking until we checked in. There was no bar due to this party and no entry to any part of the hotel except bedrooms, security staff were all around the building, it was needed! So no service for hotel guests, they don't do food but we knew that during booking. It was basically a room only with lots of noise and drama not what we expected I'm glad we only stayed one night. I felt we should have been made aware of this when booking so we had options to stay somewhere else, we would not have stayed if we had known, poor on behalf of the hotel not to communicate this in advance, they would have known. This is really a room only place, difficult stairs and private functions that cause inconvenience and stress, stairs are not suitable if your disabled. Nice room if you get a quiet stay! We were unlucky sadly spoiling our visit.

A really lovely room with a great view from the window, you could see the geese flying down the river, an excellent shower, comfortable bed, and an iron and ironing board in the room which I couldnt have predicted I'd need but I did and it was very useful. There was also a fan which I didnt need to use which I thought was a great idea. excellent choices for tea and biscuits and very helpful nice staff. lots of easy on-street parking and a car park nearby made it very easy to unload and load.

the lights in the courtyard at the back were on all night, this wasnt an issue as the room had good blackout curtains but it would have been nice if they'd turned off.

Despite no car park, relativley easy to find parking nearby. Good location to wander into town.The room was in good order and bed comfy

After booking the property did message to say that their was a nightclub downstairs some nights, which we accepted, it was noisy till about 2 and the car parked near the next door takeaway got covered in abandonned kebab salad, which wasn't great. It might help if there was a litter bin outside the takeaway. Recommend only stay midweek if noise and kebab litter is an issue. I suspect that the property is priced reasonably to offset these issue
