Samaraana

We initially booked the economy room which was a little disappointing, so we upgraded to another room (sea view) - this room we recommend. The location is like 10 min walking from surfpoints. The breakfast was great (best so far in Sri Lanka). A big thank you to the friendly staff serving the breakfast. The pool was nice.

The economy room is small and very close to the train rails. Internet connection could be improved.

The overall experience at Samaraana was really really good.

They gave us the worst room ever, it wasnt the last room what they had! Our room was close to the train Station, and we woke up all the time when the train was passing away! And for the value it is not worth! The were many other rooms free. The Mattres was super hard and the room was super small

If you look for an affordable, well equipped place to stay at the beach front in Ahangama within short walking distance to the relevant surf spots look no further. Samaraana is the place to be. A nice and tidy hotel, with exceptionally friendly, warm and welcoming staff, spacious modern and clean rooms. A great restaurant with an outstanding chef and a menu to be sought after. The Garden is also well maintained and the pool area is clean as well. I spend 3 Weeks in Sammaraana and I enjoyed every second and look forward to return.
