Tay Beach Hotel Tayrona

PLEASE READ. after reading the comments we had lots of doubts of booking here, but thankfully we booked. in the soroundings there is no better hotel than this, we were noisy and checked at least 6 other hotels around the beach area. this is the only one with a huge pool and rooms just in front of the sea. you can see that the hotel is new and they are working a lot on improvements, and they care about what you think and need and try to solve it. what was most important for us about this hotel was the deep state of relaxation we managed to achieve here, everyone is in the same mood of relaxing you don’t have noisy neighbours in the hotel or party people, is a hotel for PURE relaxation, so much that we cancelled all our exploring trips around and just stay there enjoying the pool and the ocean lol. regarding the food prices, they go between 8-12 euros which we didn’t find extra expensive, but we also went to the towns close by and got some salad ingredients for when we wanted to cook something for us. mosquitos, there are, but is not only here is in the whole area so if this is a deal breaker for you don’t come to the tayrona park. In general we can asure there is no better hotel close to this one, with the quality and style it offers without looking cheap

The breakfast was good

Staff is slow and not very responsive, lockbox was locked when we checked in and they said they would unlock it and never came. Food was mediocre and overpriced. No attention to detail and inconsistant customer service. I think this place has a lot of potential, the villas are gorgeous but def need to improve attention to customer.

The staff is amazing especially Paola. At 11pm they managed to get a tour for Tayrona park the day after. Furthermore the place is a paradise the beach in front is beautiful, with very few people. Tbh I preferred their beach than the ones in Tayrona.

Breakfast needs a little improvement but on the right track.

it was clean and comfortable

There were a lot of mosquitos and didn’t let us sleep. The staff was not very nice, it seemed they were not trained. The food was so expensive and not very good. I’m disappointed because it is not a cheap hotel and the expectations were very high. The hotel says there is a beach, but they didn’t say you can’t actually get in the sea because it is dangerous and in order to do so, you have to walk like 40 minutes.

The location of the property is picture perfect as you’re surrounded by palm trees and the beach! The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and nicely furnished. We found most of the staff really friendly and welcoming. There are good facilities to keep the children entertained such as table tennis, pool, swimming and volley ball.

Unfortunately the hotel lacked attention to detail - there was coffee machines in the rooms but no coffee was provided even after speaking to the management three times. The soap dispenser did not work properly and we found the beds quite uncomfortable. There was poor communication between reception and the spa as we tried to book a treatment but it clashed with another couple when we arrived. Although the food was nice the menu was quite limited and we found that it never came out all at once so we were not all eating at the same time. On one morning we had to asked for our room to be cleaned and the wifi was pretty poor throughout the hotel. The mosquitoes are terrible so we would have appreciated mosquito nets over each bed.
