Walgett Motel

Helpful staff.

We could walk to dinner from the motel so the location was good. And the rooms were good.

We were all good

Nothing. I could not stay at this accommodation even thiugh they refused me a refund. I left.

I was unable to cancel my booking - they didn't reply to bookong.com request and didn't answer the phone when I tried to call them. I therefore arrived on the date they were expecting me. I informed them that I had wanted to.cancel and they denied having any contact regarding that and also denied missing any phone calls. I had intended to stay but when arriving in the room I felt instantly uneasy. The room was tiny! The bed was a single and lumpy. The bathroom was unclean. I was informed by the staff member that the main gates to the motel were locked at 8.30 for safety. There was also a notice on the room door informing visitors of high likelihood of thefts and to keep valuable items with you at all times and remove all items from car. As a single female I didn't feel safe. I immediately reported my concerns to the staff member in the office who was not sympathetic to my concerns and told me I couldn't cancel. I left the key and left the motel. I again asked them to cancel as I could not stay there. She did not even offer me an alternative room. I then drove 45 minutes to the next town and stayed in alternative accomodation. This motel has put my safety at risk and their rooms are not fit for purpose.

There is not a lot of options in Walgett but Reception staff were super friendly and a very secure facility as we were locked in at 8pm; very reassuring. Nice new fluffy towels.

A very tired facility; could have been cleaner.

Given a room right at the entrance even though motel only had a few customers.Had to park car at an angle with front of car 600 mm from room doorway.Hot water took about 3 minutes to come out of the tap.The only good thing was the 9PM gate locking for safety.Motel was passable.
