Crown and Anchor Inn

We were concerned at just how basic the room was when we arrived, and the toilet & small shower was behind a sliding door, with the sink positioned in the bedroom. However, the bedroom was clean, with good quality linen and towels & we had a good night's sleep. Check in was easy. The evening meal in the bar was lovely. There is a good selection of typical bar food on the menu, and a well stocked bar. Sparklingly clean glasses for our drinks, which always impresses. The staff on duty were excellent during our stay. The Crown & Anchor is in an ideal spot, with fantastic views over the river and lots of wildlife. It's within easy walking distance of the spectacular Findhorn beach too.

The room would definitely benefit from a refurb; but if basic, clean & tidy is what you're looking for, then it ticks the box.

Lovely old pub. Good food and friendly helpful staff. Great location.

The room was very small but we were aware of that before arrival.

Hospitality and helpfulness of staff was very good. A really nice atmosphere and location.

Limited space in the room which was quite basic. A little more attention to servicing the room would have improved our experience.

Staff were superb, both with us and our dogs. Great pub atmosphere at nights and lovely food each time we ate. The kippers were scrumptious! Room was quite small but as this was a last minute booking we couldn’t complain. Bed was comfy though and great to have a window that opened wide. We will be back xxx

Decor needs a refresh. Just a paint really. The Blu-green in foyer is not right for an old building - needs strong neutrals .
