Whisky Capital Inn

Travelling for work and this little budget hotel adequately provided everything that I needed for a restful night's sleep. Located in the middle of the small historic town and very easy to find with plenty of on-street parking around the premises. It's also a short walk to several dine-in or take-away food outlets as well as the local convenience store. The inn has a nice little bar on the ground floor which is a good opportunity to chat to the friendly local natives if so inclined. I stayed in room 7 which was an attic room on the second floor. It was a decent sized room with a single bed but was spacious enough to accommodate a double with ease. The room was basic but clean and nicely decorated. There was a shared shower room across the hallway which I knew at the time of booking so no issues there. The shower was surprisingly powerful so a welcome surprise. A very comfortable bed, nice room and I slept well over my two night stay. One thing is to beware of the breakfast! I ordered the full Scottish, thinking it would be like the usual affair for this type of establishment. I was shocked at the portion of food put down before me and just about bust a gut trying to get through it! Certainly the heartiest of breakfasts I've seen for a long, long time. Nothing much else to add other than there's other accommodation out there within this budget range but you certainly get your monies worth here. I'll definitely be back if I'm working in the area again.

If being ultra picky, the bed and floorboards within the room were a little creaky.

Staff were so welcoming and lovely. Some great whisky recommendations made by them. Dinner was lovely. Room was basic but clean and comfortable.

It didn’t bother us but some may struggle with the stairs.

The carpets in the rooms and the halls were in desperate need of cleaning.

Loved staying here. Staff were very friendly, bar and restaurant were beyond expectations.

It's pretty cozy, some rooms don't have private bathrooms.
